Definition: An Observability Application Service provides capabilities to expose, collect, correlate, and analyse telemetry data generated by applications in order to assess their behaviour, performance, health, and reliability at runtime. The service enables consumers (e.g. operations teams, support services, automated management components) to gain actionable insights into application behaviour by using externally observable signals such as metrics, logs, traces, and events, without requiring direct access to internal application state. Within the European Interoperability Reference Architecture (EIRA), the Observability Application Service supports proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, optimisation, and reliability management of Digital Public Services by enabling interoperable access to application-level telemetry and diagnostics information.
